Okay, so maybe the headline isn’t true, but in a huge blow to Obama’s ego according to new poll data, Obama’s approval rating is currently lower than Bush’s and most other presidents from the 20th and 21st century during analogous time periods of their presidency. That despite sweeping into office on a huge margin of victory while his predecessor failed to win the popular vote.
The poll data suggests that Rick Santelli’s ’silent majority’ is just that, the majority, but not necessarily silent. The poll data suggests that Rush Limbaugh isn’t alone in hoping or expecting Barry to fail while also demonstrating that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues to be completely out of touch with reality. She can demand special treatment and personal airplanes all she wants, but the American people resoundingly do not want her proposed second bailout (which is actually somewhere around the fifth? I’ve lost count).
Not only has attacking Rush drastically backfired on the democrats, their over eagerness and greed to spend as much as possible on everything under the sun as soon as they regained power has lead to a rapid fall from grace, and it was grace that got them there. The American people simply will not put up with a corrupt, hypocritical, overspending Washington anymore.
Conspicuously of all the issues the poll data examines, the Iraq war is not among them. It would be interesting to know just how many Americans approve or disaprove of Barry’s immediate decision to continue the Bush strategies he’d opposed before and to extend the timetable for pulling out of Iraq. There’s a reason the war is off the front page, and it isn’t just the economy. Barry needs all the help he can get.
